LIP is deeply involved in the CERN LHC endeavor, contributing from the very beginning to the two largest experiments, ATLAS and CMS. With these fantastic scientific instruments we are studying Nature in many ways, from deepening our understanding of the Higgs boson to searching for new physics or recreating the conditions that existed in the Universe just after the Big Bang. To do this in an optimal way LIP’s Phenomenology group creates strong links between experimental and theoretical particle physics. At the same time, we are very actively improving our experiments, to respond to the challenges of running at higher LHC luminosities.
