CMS celebrates 1000th paper
"In June 2020 the CMS collaboration submitted for publication the 1,000th scientific paper. This achievement reflects an outstanding contribution to our understanding of the Universe"
The first article appeared in 2008. The most famous one is certainly number 183, announcing the discovery of the Higgs boson. After number 1000, three more articles have already been sent for publication.
For a little over a decade, CMS scientists have been producing, testing and publishing insights arising from the analysis of the high-energy collision data at the LHC, both proton-proton and heavy ion collisions.
The LHC will operate for another two decades. The data is expected to increase by a factor 20 when the high-luminosity phase starts. All these data will continue to be a source of creative new physics results, and of the corresponding scientific papers!
