Gaspar Barreira 1940-2019

Gaspar Barreira passed away on June 1, 2019. He was one of the founders of LIP, Laboratory for Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics. He was the Portuguese Delegate to the CERN Council and to the SESAME Council.
On September 11, 2019, the session "Particle physics: from fundamental science to society, a tribute to Gaspar Barreira" was held at the prime hall of the rectory of the University of Lisbon. It was from the contributions brought to that session, and from others that we could gather, that we set out to build a site dedicated to Gaspar. We warmly thank all those who made it possible!
