Portugal - CERN PhD Grants
"FCT and LIP agreed to promote a program of PhD grants in particle physics and related scientific and technological domains relevant for the Portuguese participation at CERN. Two calls will open in 2020. "
In 2020, two calls will be opened in February and September and in each of them two domains will be considered:
- Particle and Astroparticle Physics and associated scientific domains
- Technologies associated to the Portuguese participation at CERN and their transfer to society
These grants intend to support PhD theses with work programs entirely or partially carried out in a national institution (national or mixed scholarships, respectively). The candidates should be enrolled in a PhD program in high energy physics or related domains at a Portuguese university and hosted at LIP or at any R&D center with a protocol previously established with LIP under the Portugal - CERN PhD Grants Program.
This program is integrated in the scope of the IDPASC Doctoral Program in Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology.
Further details on the calls will be announced in the 2nd half of January 2020.
