LIP presents research at the European Nuclear Physics Conference
"Four researchers contributed, including an invited talk in nuclear astrophysics"
The Nuclear Reactions and Astrophysics Group at LIP (NUC-RIA) took part in the 6th European Nuclear Physics Conference (EuNPC 2025), held from 22 to 26 September 2025 in Caen, France, represented by four of its members.

Daniel Galaviz delivered an invited talk in the Nuclear Astrophysics session, presenting an overview of the group’s activities in this field. Francisco Barba and Margarida Paulino presented work on experimental nuclear reactions with radioactive and stable isotopes and their relevance to nuclear astrophysics. In parallel, Afonso Vicente presented results in the Nuclear Applications session on proton beam production using high-power lasers and thin films developed in-house.

EuNPC is organised by the Nuclear Physics Division of the European Physical Society (EPS), together with GANIL-SPIRAL2 (Grand Accélérateur National d’Ions Lourds), LPC Caen, IJCLab Orsay and IRFU Saclay, and in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The conference regularly brings together researchers from around the world to discuss recent advances in fundamental nuclear physics and its applications.
Following previous editions held in Bochum (2009), Bucharest (2012), Groningen (2015), Bologna (2018) and Santiago de Compostela (2022), EuNPC 2025 provided a key forum to review the state of the art and discuss future directions in the field. The programme included plenary lectures by leading scientists, parallel sessions featuring contributions from early-career researchers, and presentations by recipients of the EPS Nuclear Physics Division prizes.
NUC-RIA’s participation in this edition reflects its continued contribution to the advancement of nuclear physics, both in fundamental research, with particular emphasis on nuclear astrophysics and in the development of innovative applications.
