On July 16th, Maria Dias, a Master’s student in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Beira Interior and a member of the Radiation, Health and Environment (RHE) group at LIP, successfully defended her thesis entitled “Development of Mentha spicata L. in Toxic Atmospheres Containing Radon.”
The defense was held entirely in English before an international jury, with Professor Sonja Schreurs from Hasselt University as the main examiner. Maria’s performance was highly praised for its clarity, depth, and scientific rigour, earning her the highest possible grade.
