Visit to LIP
"As part of LIP's partnership with the Clube Ciência Viva at Agrupamento de Escolas Mães D'Água, 60 students visited LIP "
On the morning of February 7, three teachers and 60 secondary school students from Mães D'Água Primary and Secondary School, Amadora, visited LIP.
The visit, which took place as part of LIP's partnership with the Clube Ciência Viva at the Mães D'Água School Group, allowed the students to attend lectures and visit LIP's facilities.
One of the highlights of the initiative was the visit to LOMaC - the Optics and Scintillating Materials Laboratory and LIP-EduLab, where the students were able to see cosmic rays passing through a real detector and cosmic rays arriving at the Pierre Auger Observatory in virtual reality.
Thank you to the colleagues who accompanied the visitors throughout the morning, as well as to the LOMaC colleagues who opened up their laboratory and explained what they do there.
