Data Science School and Symposium

The Data Science School and Symposium, organized by LIP for the first time in 2018, is an event that aims to showcase the potential of data science in modern society and stimulate synergies between fundamental research and industry.
The third edition was planned for 2020 and was postponed several times because of the pandemic. It took place from 27 to 30 June 2022, in Coimbra, organized by LIP in partnership with the University of Coimbra (UC). It brought together students, researchers, companies, and R&D institutions from several countries, in an event focused on cross-cutting machine learning techniques.
Besides a school for graduate students, it included presentations from several technology-based companies and a round table with the presence of the Brazilian Center for Physics Research, Portuguese AIR Centre, and representatives of scientific computing infrastructures at UC and LIP.
