Master thesis defense
"On November 10 Cristiana Rodrigues defended at FCUL her MSc thesis carried out at LIP in collaboration with the Champalimaud Foundation. The thesis received the highest rating. Congratulations!"
Cristiana is part of LIP's Dosimetry group and the work was carried out in collaboration with the Champalimaud Foundation (CF). The thesis, titled “Comparison of Two 177Lu-DOTATATE Quantification Methods for Patient Personalized Dosimetry in Therapy of Neuroendocrine Tumors”, was supervised by Luís Peralta (LIP/FCUL) and Paulo Ferreira (CF).
In this work, the possibility of developing personalized treatment plans for certain types of patients undergoing nuclear medicine therapies was studied. Data from patients treated at CF were used. LIP provided the technology for the simulations, which were made using the TOPAS software. It is worth mentioning that Cristiana created in TOPAS a new feature that allows using SPECT images as a starting point in the case of large radiation sources.
