On 25 June 2026, Sónia Azevedo successfully defended her master's dissertation in Physics Engineering at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), graduating with a mark of 18/20.
The dissertation, entitled “In silico study of proton irradiation of spherical and ellipsoid cell models internalized with gold nanoparticles and gold-coated nanodiamonds”, was developed in collaboration between LIP and C2TN.
The defence took place before a jury chaired by Daniel Galaviz (LIP/FCUL), with Teresa Pinheiro (iBB/IST) serving as examiner and Jorge Sampaio (LIP/FCUL) as supervisor. The work was also co-supervised by Ana Belchior (C2TN/IST).
