Season’s Greetings at LIP: a collective card and a shared lunch across sites
"LIP marked the festive season with a collective Christmas card, lunches across its three sites, and a shared activity highlighting its human side."

To mark the festive season, LIP shared its Season’s Greetings through a set of simple initiatives designed to engage the community and strengthen the sense of connection between its sites.
This year’s Christmas card was created collaboratively, using handwritten messages contributed by members of the LIP community. The result? Two versions of a collective card made up of different styles and personal touches, reflecting the diversity of people who make up the institution.
The celebrations also included Christmas lunches at LIP’s three sites - Lisbon, Coimbra and Minho - providing informal moments of gathering and conviviality among colleagues.
During the lunches, a small activity common to all three sites was also launched, centred on a simple question: “What makes LIP special?” The responses were varied, spontaneous and, in many cases, light-hearted. Even so, a clear and shared idea emerged: the importance of people, collaboration and the human dimension of LIP, alongside its scientific work.
The folder containing all the photographs from these gatherings, as well as the digital versions of the card, can be found here.
These initiatives take place at a moment of transition towards a particularly significant year, as LIP celebrates 40 years of activity, and aim to reinforce the bonds within the community by valuing what sustains it on a daily basis.
LIP wishes everyone Season’s Greetings and an excellent 2026.
