LIP launches LIPTec project to strengthen the link between science and business
"Project funded by COMPETE 2030 prepares the creation of a new Technology Transfer Office at LIP."
LIP has just launched the LIPTec project, an initiative funded by COMPETE 2030 that reinforces the laboratory’s commitment to enhancing the value of scientific and technological knowledge and strengthening its connection with the business sector.
The project aims to structure and leverage LIP’s expertise in areas such as data science, instrumentation, simulation, monitoring, and digital technologies, promoting their application to concrete challenges in sectors such as health, industry, mobility, space, and environment.
One of LIPTec’s main goals is the future creation of a Technology Transfer Office, which will act as a single point of contact between LIP and the business community, facilitating the development of collaborations, joint projects, and the practical application of technologies developed at the laboratory.
“With LIPTec, we want to bring LIP’s consolidated experience in areas such as data, instrumentation, simulation and digital technologies closer to companies, helping to turn knowledge into innovation," says Raul Sarmento, project coordinator.
LIPTec represents a strategic step in LIP’s mission to promote technology transfer, strengthen business competitiveness, and drive innovation with real impact in Portugal’s North and Central regions.
