From June 7 to 18, LIP Lisbon hosted the Ciência Viva internship “Hunting for Elementary Particles in Nature”, an initiative organized in partnership with the Ciência Viva Agency.
Over the course of two weeks, eight high school students aged between 15 and 17 took part in this science holiday internship, diving into the fascinating world of elementary particles. During ten afternoons at LIP, they explored the fundamental properties of these particles, learned analysis methods and detector construction techniques, and had the opportunity to work with real data from experiments in particle and astroparticle physics.
