LIP at the DRD1 Gaseous Detectors School
"The Laboratory actively participated in the DRD1 Gaseous Detector School at CERN with practical exercises."

Between November 27 and December 6, 2024, the DRD1 Gaseous Detector School took place at CERN, a reference event dedicated to the most advanced gaseous detector technologies, such as MPGDs, (M)RPCs and wire-based detectors.
Combining morning lectures led by internationally renowned experts and practical exercises in the afternoons, the school provided participants with comprehensive training on the physics of gaseous detectors, manufacturing techniques, simulation and modeling, data reading and applications of these technologies.

LIP played a major role in this edition, leading two practical exercises that highlighted the Laboratory's know-how and innovation:
- The construction and testing of MRPC modules based on the design developed for the AUGER experiment.
- The characterization of a muon telescope built using this technology.

Aimed at PhD students and young scientists, this school is a unique opportunity to deepen knowledge and exchange experiences in an environment of international collaboration.

We hope to see a strong turnout of LIP students at the next edition!
