Sumário do Projecto
The European research landscape continues to face major fragmentation in accessing, sharing, and reusing data and
services across scientific disciplines and national borders. While significant progress has been made through the
European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), researchers and providers still encounter barriers related to access,
interoperability, governance, sustainability, and integration of services. EOSC Mesh addresses this challenge by
extending the EOSC Federation supply side with seven new Nodes and their federating capabilities bringing
together a catalogue of 25 Federating Capabilities offering Core, Generic and Thematic functionalities, and by
supporting the establishment of the EOSC demand side to be engaged through an adoption programme targeted to
both providers and potential Node operators (B2B) and research communities (B2C). We estimate to engage
+650,000 individual users and over 2000 research centres and industry partners spanning 40+ countries.
EOSC Mesh Overall Objective
Establish the EOSC Mesh Hub - a group of seven Nodes collaboratively providing a catalogue of integrated
federating capabilities and offering support to the EOSC supply and demand sides.
The EOSC Mesh Hub catalogue will offer (1) Core services for the operation of Nodes within the EOSC
Federation, and (2) Generic and Thematic services for the access to distributed EOSC resources.
EOSC Mesh Ambition
EOSC Mesh will make possible the creation and the operations of a continuum of data, compute and storage
resources that will be seamlessly accessed by the scientific communities. EOSC Mesh services offer a view of
data and research objects from multiple sources, and a virtualised approach that allows users to access and query
data and other research objects from multiple Nodes in real time.
