The CMS collaboration is preparing methods and techniques to filter an event samples enhanced in top quark processes out of the full data set which we will cumulate. In order to make physics interpretations we also propose techniques to estimate the fraction of background processes in this selected sample. The prior goal with this sample is to learn more about the properties of the top quark and the processes it appears in. After consolidating these measurements, we will confront the Standard Model with the data and zoom into regions of phase-space where new physics phenomena could appear. The presentation will overview the achievement of the CMS collaboration in this direction and will be injected with personal ideas on these topics. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
