Excursion
On Wednesday, June 16th, there will be an excursion to Evora,
an old city founded by the Romans, located southeast of Lisbon in the
middle of the Alentejo plain ("Planicie Alentejana").
The city of Evora is classified as World Heritage.
The buses will depart from Lisbon at around 11:30, and we expect the
arrival at Evora by 13:00.
From 13:00 to 15:00 it will be free time, eventually for lunch. The lunch
in Evora is not organised and people are free for a gastronomical
adventure by the several restaurants of the city at their own choice.
At 15:00 a guided visit (participants will be divided
in 2 groups) to the historical center of Evora will take place.
People will walk through and visit the most famous monuments in the
historical center. Those interested in participating in this visit
should meet at the Tourism Office located in the Giraldo Square
(reference 11 in the map).
After the guided visit and until dining time, participants
will be free to explore Evora, namely to taste the local wines
in a wine cellar. This suggestion is extended also to those that
had not joined the guided visit.
In the evening a dinner consisting of typical food from Alentejo,
will be served at the Grill of "Colegio do Espirio Santo",
located in the University of Evora
(reference 19 in the map). All the participants that joined the excursion
to Evora will meet at the "Colegio do Espirio Santo" by 19:30.
