The Pierre Auger Observatory (PAO), located in the Argentine Pampa, is the world's largest Cosmic Ray detector.

Covering ~3.000 km2, the PAO is a hybrid detector with a ground array of water Cherenkov tanks and four fluorescence telescopes.
