SINE2020 General Assembly 2016

SINE2020 is a consortium of 18 partner institutions from 12 countries, funded by the European Union through the H2020 programme, aims at:

  1. preparing Europe for the unique opportunities at the European Spallation Source (ESS)
  2. developing the innovation potential of neutron Large Scale Facilities (LSF’s).

 

The SINE2020 General Assembly will take place in Coimbra at the Dep. of Physics of the University of Coimbra, from 7 to 8 September 2016.

Coimbra is located at the centre of Portugal by the river Mondego. Having a rich cultural and historical patrimony, the city has been called the ‘city of students’ due to the relevant role of the University of Coimbra.
The history of the University of Coimbra dates back to the century subsequent to the very foundation of the Portuguese nation, since the University was established in the 13th century, in 1290.

The University of Coimbra, one of the most relevant educational institutions in Portugal and abroad, was granted recently UNESCO’s World Heritage status.
