Introduction

CrossGrid is an European R&D project, which aims to develop, implement and exploit new Grid components for interactive computing and data intensive applications. The CrossGrid  middleware will enable the deployment of a distributed computing infrastructure allowing access to high-end computational resources across Europe. This environment will be used to develop interactive parallel applications addressing large-scale problems in fields such as earth science, surgical procedures, environmental protection, flood prediction, and physics analysis and simulation. The project has been approved by the European Union (EU) Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme in 2001 and has started in March 2002. There are 21 partners from 11 countries involved and coordinated by the Cyfronet Centre in Cracow, Poland.

LIP Participation
 

LIP is participating on tasks 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 of the International Testbed  Organization Work Package 4 (WP4) with a particular involvement in task 4.4, Verification and Quality Control.
