The flags of the 22 Member States are back at the CERN gate

After a long period of construction works, the Esplanade des Particules, in front of the Meyrin CERN site, was inaugurated today, and the flags of the Members States were raised, among them Portugal. In the pictures, Gaspar Barreira, Portuguese Delegate to the CERN Council, and Paulo Gomes, CERN's liaison for Portugal, and Rita Ferreira (Trainee of the FCT programme for young engineers), who particited in the rising of the flag. CERN celebrated 60 years of Science for Peace and remains a symbol of worldwide cooperation, for science and for the common good.
