Master thesis defense

The thesis, titled "A novel energy reconstruction for high-energy gamma-ray wide field of view observatories" proposes a new method to determine gamma-ray energy in observatories with a wide field of view. This method allows estimating the stage of development of the cascade, significantly improving the resolution of energy reconstruction. The work, which led to a scientific publication [1], was developed within the scope of the SWGO project.
The thesis was supervised by Ruben Conceição (LIP/IST) and co-supervised by Mário Pimenta (LIP/IST). The memebrs of the jury were our colleagues Teresa Peña (LIP/IST) as president, Ulisses Barres de Almeida, co-spokesperson of SWGO (CBPF, Rio de Janeiro), as well as the supervisor.
