Master thesis defense
"Pedro Costa successfully defended his MSc thesis in Physics Engineering at Técnico. The research work was carried out within the participation of LIP in the SWGO project. Congratulations!"
The thesis, titled "Evaluation of the potential of a gamma-ray observatory to detect astrophysical", demonstrates that it is possible to identify ultra high energy neutrinos through cascades. This work, which will be the subject of a future scientific publication, was developed in the scope of the SWGO project.
The work was supervised by Ruben Conceição (LIP/IST) and co-supervised by Jaime Alvarez-Muñiz (IGFAE/University of Santiago de Compostela). The members of the jury were our colleagues Mário Pimenta (LIP/IST) as president, Sofia Andringa (LIP), Bernardo Tomé (LIP/IST) and Jaime Alvarez-Muñiz representing the supervision.
