EPS-HEP 2021
"The 2021 high energy physics conference of the European Physics Society is happening online during this week. LIP researchers were involved in different ways"
The European Physical Society Conference on High Energy Physics (EPS-HEP) is one of the major international conferences that reviews the field every second year since 1971. It is organised by the High Energy and Particle Physics Divison of the European Physical Society.
The 2021 edition takes place from the 26th to the 30th of July and follows a purely online format. It was jointly organised by the University of Hamburg and the DESY research center.
Two LIP researchers presented oral contributions in the conference. Guilherme Milhano presented the contribution “Electron-Ion Collisions at the LHeC and FCC-he” on behalf of the LHeC/FCC-he Study Group. Ruben Conceição presented the SWGO Observatory on behalf of the SWGO Collaboration, with the contribution “Southern Wide-field Gamma-ray Observatory: status and prospects”.
Besides that, Liliana Apolinário and Nuno Leonardo contributed as convenors of the “Heavy Ions” and “Flavour Physics and CP Violation” sessions, respectively, and Mário Pimenta serves as member of the International Advisory Committee (IAC) and João Varela as member of the International Organizing Committee. Several other LIP researchers participated in the conference.
The next edition of the conference should take place in 2023 in Hamburg.
