LIP at Ciência 2021

This year's edition of the Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation in Portugal, Ciência 2021, ended today. The Meeting took place in a hybrid regime, with a limited number of participants present at the Lisbon Congress Center and all sessions with live streaming on YouTube.
The program included four plenary sessions and 26 thematic sessions that revealed international partnerships of research units, universities, companies and other national entities. LIP was represented by Ricardo Gonçalo, who, in his talk titled “The Frontier of Particle Physics in Europe”, discussed particle physics, LIP, CERN and the recently revised European strategy for particle physics for the next several decades.
Ciência 2021 was promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology in collaboration with Ciência Viva and the Parliamentary Commission for Education, Science, Youth and Sport, with the support of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education. The theme of this year's event was “Science that makes Tomorrow and transforms the Economy”, seeking to set the tone for the discussion of the main challenges and opportunities of science in Portugal and in Europe, from the future of employment to space exploration and climate changes.
