UMinho Scientific Research Initiation Award

The first edition of the UMinho Scientific Research Initiation, promoted by the rectory of the University of Minho in collaboration with the research centers, was concluded today.
The 18 best competing projects were presented in a session held at UMinho's Gualtar Campus, in Braga. Among the selected works were the projects carried out by students Céu Neiva and Luís Amorim within the LIP Internship Program 2020. The Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, who dedicated this Friday’s agenda to the University of Minho, was present at the session, and remarked the high quality of the works presented.
The task of the juries was thus admittedly difficult: choosing the three works to be awarded in each of the three panels. Luís Amorim, with a muon tomography project supervised by Raul Sarmento (LIP-Minho) and Sofia Andringa (LIP-Lisbon), was one of the winners! The award ceremony took place at the UMinho Education Institute, again with the presence of Minister Manuel Heitor.
