AMBER highlighted in the CERN Bulletin

LIP-ECO/Catarina Quintans | 12 Março, 2021

"AMBER, successor of COMPASS, is the new fixed target experiment recently approved by CERN, of which LIP is a founding member. It is highlighted in the latest CERN Bulletin"

The LIP group in the COMPASS experiment is part of AMBER since the idea was born. The new experiment is expected to start taking data in 2022, after the completion of the last run of COMPASS.

You can read about the physics goals, detector and planned data taking phases in the CERN Bulletin article:

"The next-generation successor of the COMPASS experiment will measure the fundamental properties of the proton and its relatives

AMBER will build on COMPASS’s legacy and take it to the next level. By upgrading existing COMPASS components and introducing new detectors and targets, as well as using state-of-the-art read-out technology, the team behind AMBER plans to take three kinds of measurements in the experiment’s first phase."
